Listed below are the main instructional platforms that will be used for Virtual Learning. The information provided will assist with access credentials. The main platforms for Virtual Learning will be VERGE or Google Classroom and Microsoft Teams or Zoom. VERGE or Google Classroom will be used for daily communication of learning assignments and teacher/student feedback. Microsoft Teams or Zoom will be used for LIVE learning sessions. How do I log into Launchpad from a Personal Device to Access Verge and Microsoft Teams?
Method 1 ( Personal Device):
- Go to the following URL: students.dekalbschoolsga.org
- Click on the words Login with Active Directory
- Username is your DCSD issued student number
- Password (Grades 6 – 12): Students in grade 6 – 12 must log into a DCSD student computer to set their password. The default password is dekalb00. The student will be prompted to change password which will take about 15 minutes to communicate to the appropriate systems.
- Click Sign IN
- The LAUNCHPAD portal screen should appear.
- Locate and Click on the VERGE icon
Method 2 (Personal Device):
- Go to the dekalbschoolsga.org website
- Scroll down the home to locate the LAUNCHPAD ICON
- Click on the icon and you are now logged in to access resources
- Locate and Click on the VERGE Icon
Method 3 (Chromebook - School Issued Device):
- Locate LAUNCHPAD Icon on your Desktop
- Click on the Icon and you are now logged in to access resources
- Locate and Click on the Verge Icon

How do I access Google Classroom?
Instructions:
Google Classroom Google Classroom is designed to help teachers and students communicate and collaborate, manage assignments paperlessly, and stay organized. Google Classroom is part of the Google Apps for Education suite of tools and is only available to Google Apps for Education accounts.
First Login: Go to classroom.google.com
Scroll down and choose student as your role.
Join a Class with the Class Code:
1. Go to classroom.google.com. If it is your first login, be sure to select your role as Student (see previous page).
2. Click the + on the top right of the page to Join Class.
3. Enter the Class Code given to you by your teacher, and click Join.

How can I get into duolingo?
**Instructions are based on your class period. Please find your class period for instructions.
Your Spanish class is going to use Duolingo at school.
These are the instructions to join Spanish 1 (1st period)!
If you are on a computer, go here: http://duolingo.com/o/vfuxdv
If you are on a smartphone or tablet:
1. Download the Duolingo app and open it up.
2. Press Get Started. Then select Spanish.
3. Set your Daily Goal and continue (you can change this later).
4. Create a Profile: On Android, press the menu icon at the top right corner and press Create a Profile.
On iOS, press Profile in the top left corner and press Create a Profile.
5. Type in your Name, Email and Password, then press Create.
6. Go to your Profile and press Progress Sharing.
7. Type in your Classroom Code: VFUXDV
8. Press Join Class.
