 LTC James C. McDaniel was born in Woodrow, South Carolina June 21, 1951 to parents John H. and Annie Mae McDaniel. He was commissioned from South Carolina State University in 1973, however he didn’t report to active duty until January 28, 1974. During his time in the military he served as a tanker and was stationed in Fort Knox, Germany, Korea, Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and the Pentagon. After 20 years and 6 months of service he retired June 30, 1994. Prior to Miller Grove he served as SAI at Banneker High School in Atlanta, Georgia. During The school year 2007-08 he became our Wolverine Battalion SAI. LTC McDaniel is happily married to Kristen McDaniel and together they have two children, James (35) and Chris (31). LTC McDaniel would like to leave you all with these words of encouragement, “One should always do the right thing for the right reasons, no matter what day.”  
  Command Sergeant Major James Turner was born in Augsburg, Germany on February 24, 1954 to parents James and Elizabeth Turner. He joined the military in 1973 where he served 29 years. During this time he worked as a combat infantry man and visited various countries such as Germany, Korea, Kuwait and many more. After retiring from the Army in 2002, he took a job at Decatur High School as an Army JROTC Cadre. In 2007 he explored new opportunities and transferred to Miller Grove High School as a cadre of the Miller Grove High Wolverine Battalion. Command Sergeant Major Turner is married to Captain Jean’ Cox-Turner and together they have four kids: Sonya (38); Jarelle (27); and Lamar and Lance (20) who are twins. Command Sergeant Major is known for his quote “Live by the Creed”.
  Sergeant First Class Robert E. Ham was born in Miami, Florida 1960 to parents Ernest and Thelma Ham. He enlisted in the Army May 21, 1980 where he served 21years. During this time he served as an infantry man and in human resources. He has been stationed at several posts around the world and the USA including Fort Benning, Fort Devins, Germany, Panama, Fort Carson, and Fort Gillem. After retiring in May 2001, Sergeant First Class Ham became a Cadre at South Atlanta High School. After leaving South Atlanta High School he then took another job as a cadre at Crim High School. Soon after leaving Crim High School he found his way to Miller Grove High in 2005. He is the only original Wolverine Battalion cadre since its start 2005. SFC Ham is happily married to Rita Ham and they have one daughter Raquial (23). Sergeant First Class Ham’s life quote is that “If you can believe it, you can achieve it.”
