Awards Day
The awards day program is an Annual ceremony, which acknowledges cadets achievements, in personal, military, and academic excellence. Our 2nd annual awards ceremony took place on April 21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. 35 special awards were awarded to outstanding cadets for their hard work and dedication throughout the 2008-2009 school year.
Community Service
Our JROTC program participates in many types of community service events. Including escorting, ushering and assisting in other events that take place at our school and around the Atlanta area. We are proud to take part in such commitments and events and show the pride of the wolverine battalion.
Field Trips
This year cadets enjoyed several outings to various locations. Field trips allow cadets to experience the JROTC program in another setting. Cadets gain exposure and insight into both military and civilian lifestyles.
Homecoming
Every year the cadets participate in home coming activities for the school. These activities include escorts for the homecoming coronation and courts. The cadets also help the day of the homecoming game by creating the saber tunnel for the homing court to walk through.
JCLC
JCLC or Junior Cadet Leadership Challenge is a week long summer camp that takes place annually at Ft. Benning in Columbus, Georgia. Cadets are housed at Columbus State University dormitories. The participate in training exercises which include rappelling, land navigation, self defense, leadership reaction courses, as well a 34 foot jump tower. The experiences that the cadets gain from JCLC will be with them for the rest of their lives.
Military Ball
The military balls are held throughout the year for several counties and schools. They are social gatherings that allow the cadets to interact and socialize with other cadets. The Wolverine battalion attends the DeKalb County and Decatur High School military balls yearly.
