Course Description:
This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to master basic math skills without the use of a calculator. The Algebra portion includes the real number system, exponents, roots, order of operation, fractions, decimals, percent, algebraic expressions, algebraic equations, rates and proportions, and word problems. The Data section includes analyzing and computing mean, median, and mode. Graphing linear functions will also be addressed. The final section is Geometry which will review points, lines, planes, angles, polygons, and transformations. All major formulas will be reviewed. Topics will be represented in multiple ways, such as concrete/pictorial, verbal/written, graphical, and symbolic. Concepts will be introduced and used, where appropriate, in the context of realistic phenomena. Curriculum Overview
