Allow me to introduce myself....
My family has dedicated over 5 decades and 3 generations to the field of education. Members of my family, including my mother and father, are employed throughout the metro-Atlanta school districts in various positions, ranging from district-level administrators and principals to cafeteria managers.
I graduated from Georgia State University in 2011 with a B.S. in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science. Returning to my alma mater, I graduated in 2014 with an M.S. in Educational Research. During this program, my thesis focused on understanding the achievement gap of African American students within secondary and post-secondary education. In May 2018, I graduated from Georgia State University with a M.A.T. in Mathematics Education.
In the future, I will pursue a doctorate degree in Statistics and research the access, engagement, and equity of distance/virtual learning in the African-American community.
I am pleased and proud to be a part of the MGHS team and I look forward to a great school year.
